Connecting Google Drive

Updated August 2026 · 3 min read

Connecting a Google Drive folder keeps your Knowledge base in sync automatically — no re-uploading files every time something changes.

  1. From Knowledge → + Add source, choose Google Drive.
  2. Sign in with the Google account that has access to the folder you want to connect.
  3. Pick specific folders to sync — each one has its own toggle, so you can add “Research” without also pulling in “Legal Templates.”
  4. Set a sync frequency (real-time, every 6 hours, or daily) and whether to include subfolders.
💡 Folders are opted in individually on purpose — connecting your Drive account doesn't mean “index everything in it.” Only what you explicitly toggle on gets synced.

What happens after you connect

Orvoq indexes the documents in your selected folders and makes them available as Knowledge — meaning any session that opts in can reference them, with source citations pointing back to the original file. Updates in Drive sync automatically at whatever frequency you set.

Reconnecting or disconnecting

If folders look out of date, you can reconnect the same Google account from the Knowledge screen — this refreshes the connection without losing your existing sync settings. Disconnecting stops future syncs but doesn't delete what's already been indexed; remove individual items separately if you want them gone too.

A note on access

Orvoq only sees what the connected Google account already has access to. If someone leaves your company and their Google access is revoked, reconnect the source using a different account to keep the sync running.
