Understanding escalation policies

If a scheduled or webhook Run hits an approval request and nobody's watching, you don't want it to stall indefinitely. Set one of three policies per Trigger:

  • Notify and wait (default) — the owner is notified, nothing proceeds until they respond
  • Escalate after timeout — notify a fallback approver if unresolved after a set period
  • Auto-reject after timeout — cancel the pending action rather than let it sit
