Understanding checkpoints and recovery

Updated August 2026 · 2 min read

Orvoq automatically saves checkpoints at safe points during an agent's execution — before and after tool calls, before approval requests. If something fails (a tool error, a provider outage), recovery resumes from the last valid checkpoint automatically.

You can also manually trigger a checkpoint, or deliberately roll an execution back to an earlier one — not just for failure recovery.
